YANKEE LARIAT was a $350,000 yearling at the 2002 Kentucky Standardbred Sales. As a 2 and 3 year old he was trained by the noted Canadian producer Robert McIntosh, and raced consistently in top company winning the 2004 Tattersalls Pace at The Red Mile in Lexington Kentucky. In his later racing career he won many Invitational's and Open Handicaps against speed horses of the day, in both Canada and the USA.

YANKEE LARIAT’S sire is the renowned and famous WESTERN HANOVER, regarded as the ‘sire of sires’. During his stud career he sired 1700+ horses of racing age, 884 in 2:00 or better, 489 in 1:55 or better, 32 in 1:50 or better, 308 $100,000 winners, 36 $500,000 winners and 12 £1,000,000 winners. His notable sons at stud are: The Panderosa, Western Ideal, Rustler Hanover, Badlands Hanover, Barnett Hanover, Jeremes Jet, etc.

LUSH LIMBAUGH the dam of YANKEE LARIAT is a half sister to CAMTASTIC. During his stud career he sired 719 foals of racing age, 389 in 2:00 or better,119 in 1:55 or better, 2 in 1:50 or better, 106 $100,000 winners,19 $250.000 and 4 $500,000 winners. CAMTASTIC also had a successful stud career in the southern hemisphere. In Australia he has sired 41 winners, 11 in 2:00 or better including Dee Dees Dream p,1:58 $350,935AU. In New Zealand he sired 154 winners with 68 in 2:00 or better which included Mister DG p,1:55.9 $727,913NZ and Country Ways p,1:59.0 £211,220NZ. CAMTASTIC is also noted as a major broodmare sire.
